| Abstract | The objective of this study is to evaluate the geometric correction effect over JERS-1 SAR image statistical classification results. An image from the surroundings of the Tapajós National Forest, Brazil was used for this purpose. The JERS-1 image and three other images formed by filtering the original one by mean, Frost and Lee filters, were used as input images for three different classifiers: Maximum Likelihood, Maximum Likelihood Iterated Conditional Modes (ICM), and Batthacharrya distance. The georeference of images didn´t affect the results of Maximum Likelihood, Maximum Likelihood ICM classifiers. However Batthacharrya classifier produced different statistical results. | |||
